Delivery from Santa

THIS week, the Marie Curie Hospice Penarth was pleased to receive a donation of children's toys from the Red Dragon FM children's Christmas Toy appeal.

Marie Curie hospice Penarth actively promotes quality of life for people with cancer and provides support for their families entirely free.

Around 500 patients and their families are cared for each year at the hospice.

Jill Templeman, social worker and family support team leader at the hospice, said: "The young families of patients being cared for at the hospice are coping with upsetting and sometimes traumatic experiences whilst their relative is being cared for, they can find it even more difficult at this time of year.

"Receiving a Christmas present from the appeal will provide them with a little relief from the stressful time they are having."

Hospice fundraising manager Rachal Minchinton added: "We rely heavily on funding from the local community to provide our services, and we always remind people of the care received by patients at the hospice and in the local community.
