Green is the colour for Max

EARLIER this year, Penarth lad Max Glover, aged 19, completed 32 weeks of the hardest infantry training in the world, to earn the coveted green beret at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines.

During his time in training, Max was described by an officer as one of the stronger recruits, and exercised his skills as a competent section commander.

Training culminates with the commando tests and Marine Glover successfully passed them, achieving one of the best times on the endurance course, despite being the only recruit who had just completed a nine-mile speed march!

Max, a former pupil of Stanwell School, will unfortunately not be spending Christmas at home with his family, as he is away with Fleet Protection Group RM.
