Work for Windsor Gardens

THE Vale of Glamorgan Council is set to undertake a major works programme in one of Penarth's parks.

The Grade II listed Windsor Gardens date from the late 19th Century, and the work on shrub beds and trees in the southern section is expected to be completed by the end of April.

New planting will follow remedial work on the mature mixed shrub border running along the western boundary wall, which is overgrown.

The work will include reducing the overall height and density of the border.

Vale Council Operational Manager (Parks and Grounds Maintenance) Phil Beaman said: "Shrubs that have exceeded their lifespan and those in poor health will be removed to open up the overcrowded border, to improve its structure and make room for new planting."
