Barrier

WITH reference to your article on the cliff top recycling site (Penarth Times, January 26).

The problem of heaps of rubbish is not only due to the tipping of cardboard and larger items, but is also caused by youngsters deliberately overturning the bins.

They also come to the cliff top car park in order to race around it as noisily as possible.

The only solution to both problems is to have the same sort of barrier as the council has fitted on the promenade at Cold Knap, which allows cars to exit but not to enter after dark.

Some months ago I wrote, on behalf of the Penarth Society, to Councillor Anthony Ernest highlighting the problems and making this suggestion of a barrier and also asking for this area to be surfaced, but I have still not received a reply.
