RE your interesting front page headline regarding complaints about ambulance response times (January 19).
Perhaps I can redress the balance a little by relating my experience which was very positive in contrast.
A few years ago I had just enjoyed a quiet gin and tonic with my friend Edna at the Captain"s Wife public house.
As I crossed the car park I became dizzy and fainted. By an amazing coincidence two ambulance paramedics were enjoying a jumbo hot dog at the nearby kiosk.
They rushed to my aid putting me in the recovery position and loosened my camel coat and scarf
It was then that my friend Edna noticed blood coming from my head.
However, there was relieved hilarity when it was discovered that the "blood" was in fact tomato ketchup from the paramedic"s hot dog.
Nothing can take away the dedication and professionalism of the wonderful emergency personnel, despite concerns regarding how ambulance response times are prioritised by management.
