SULLY SPORTS 3
LISVANE/LLANISHEN 0
IN EXCELLENT conditions for last Saturday's South Wales Senior Cup round three match, Sully entertained a Lisvane team much changed from the previous meetings between the clubs.
Sully were quickly on the offensive but were caught out time and again by an efficient offside trap which tended to drag the play down.
Sully were the more positive team and created some good chances, but half time arrived with the teams level.
The second period again had Sports pressing for the opener and it deservedly came when Joe Hinds crossed for Anthony Ferguson to nod in at the near post.
With Ferguson back to his best form he repeated the move minutes later, meeting Spencer Lamb's cross shot to head past the keeper.
Lisvane were unable to get into the game and Sports made changes with Lloyd Everett and Mark Brown quickly making an impression.
The third goal came when a fine pass was threaded through for Drew Fahiya to power in to beat the keeper.
Sports kept up the momentum and attacked till the end. A good win after a rather untidy first period.
Sports have a day off this Saturday, then travel for a league game to the in-form Fairwater, who are always up for the game, leaving at 12.30pm.
LLANTWIT MAJOR 1
SULLY SPORTS 1
This was a deserved point in the Vale of Glamorgan Premier Division for the Sports after a fighting display in the Vale with the team reinforced by old timers Jason and Thomo.
Together with Grem they policed the game well and could have won the points if they had converted their chances. Sully's goal was scored by Craig Thomas.
There were good displays from the reliable Tipples and Butty along with Martyn, Niblett, and Prosser who battled well for the youngsters Jordan, Stillman, Chung and Hodgy.
Sports were reduced to ten players after a skirmish when tempers frayed with Grem unfortunate to be seen giving an opposing player assistance.
A boost for the cup game against the Linnets at Swanbridge on Saturday, 1.15pm at the club please.
