Road to LA starts here for Jade

A SULLY Lifeguard will be one of the contestants at the Grand Final of Miss Great Britain 2006!

Jade Blackmore, aged 18, is one of 50 girls competing for the title.

Jade, a criminology and law student at the University of Wales, Swansea, is a qualified lifeguard and swimming instructor.

She said: "The competition will partly be decided by a public vote so I want as many people in the Barry area to support me as possible.

"My long-term aim is to become a professional model and I hope this provides me with the springboard I need."

Members of the public can support Jade by texting MBG3 (capitals and no spaces) to 83070.

The final will take place this Saturday, February 25 in The Great Room at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane.

A celebrity panel of judges will include Jean-Christophe Novelli, Faria Alam, Christine Hamilton, John McCririck, Lord Brocket and Michael Ball.

The winner will get a speaking part in a Hollywood film, a contract with Sky Model Agency in Los Angeles and Neon Model Management in London, a personal numberplate worth £500 plus designer fashions, make-up and jewellery.
