LAST Saturday, Cogan Leisure Centre was the scene of great celebration, as Sully Sports U15s squad retained its league title, which it has held for four consecutive seasons since the U12 age group.
The win against Cogan gave Sully the three points that mean its points tally cannot be surpassed.
The game itself was a fairly one-sided affair and the result was never in doubt once Sully had taken a two-goal lead after ten minutes.
Though Sports build-up play was often of high-calibre, a mix of poor finishing, the woodwork and an inspired Jake Howells in goal kept the score down. Sully scorers were Haidn Dibble (3), Andrew McIlheney, Rhys Howells, Matthew Green, Peter Fordham and Ashley McCarthy.
It was particularly pleasing for the coaches that six of the team against Cogan have been present over the four seasons: Haidn Dibble, Rob Gill, Shaun Jachontow, Nat Taylor-Moore, Sam Wooster and Max Wootton.
The season has again been a fantastic achievement for the squad which has seen them unbeaten in league action, with 14 wins and a draw, amassing 155 goals for and conceding just nine.
Sully s last league defeat was in November 2004, an undefeated run of 25 matches - 24 wins and a draw.
The team lost out on a third league and cup double, controversially losing the cup semi-final with representative call-ups denying Sully key players.
Saturday sees the squad embark on a five-day tour to Spain, playing two matches against representative teams from Barcelona.
