A PENARTH schoolboy put in a storming performance at the Welsh National swimming championships, taking nine gold medals.
Twelve-year-old Ieuan Lloyd, a pupil at Stanwell School and previously Ysgol Pen y Garth, took gold in the 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 100m back stroke, 200m back stroke, 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley and 100m butterfly at the championships, held over Easter weekend.
The Penarth swimmer recorded qualifying times for the British National Age Group championships to be held in Sheffield at the end of July in four events - the 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke, 200m individual medley and 400m individual medley.
