Knifepoint robbery

POLICE are hunting two masked men who held a man at knifepoint in his own home while they carried out a burglary.

The aggravated burglary took place at Rhuddlan Way in Dinas Powys at around 12.35am on Tuesday (May 2).

A police spokesperson said: "Two male suspects knocked on the front door of a house in Rhuddlan Way and when the homeowner answered the door, they pushed past him and entered the house.

"Once inside the house, ome man held a knife to the victim"s throat and demanded money."

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries but he did suffer a scratch on the throat from the knife and is said to be deeply shaken by the ordeal.

The suspects took the victim"s wallet containing a small quantity of cash and car keys, left the house, and then made off in the victim"s car, a Mercedes 200.

The men drove approximately 20 feet along the street and then abandoned the vehicle and made off on foot.

The first suspect is described as male, 6ft 4in tall, large build, wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, blue jeans, white trainers with a blue logo, possibly wearing a blue and red Spiderman face mask.

The second suspect is described as male, 5ft 10 inches tall, medium build, wearing dark clothes and possibly a dark face mask.

Detective Sergeant Joe Sweeney of Vale CID said: "We would like to remind the public that this is an isolated and very rare incident for the Dinas Powys area, where reported crime is very low.

"Criminal activity will not be tolerated in the Vale of Glamorgan and the public can be rest assured that we will do everything possible to catch these criminals."
