CARDIFF International Airport has benefited from a multi-million pound refurbishment programme, resulting in a bigger, brighter and better terminal which has been welcomed by passengers.
Only 12 miles from Cardiff City Centre and 10 miles from the M4, it is justifiably proud of being one of the most successful regional airports in the UK, handling 1,500,000 passengers a year.
Many improvements have been carried out since the airport's privatisation in 1995 by TBI plc.
The main airport entrance has been transformed with an expanded ground floor check-in hall, together with a central revolving door, new terrazzo flooring and improvements to the glazed exterior.
A new Gate 1 has been constructed to allow passengers faster access on to scheduled flights, and passengers travelling with BA and KLM now have their own fast-track entrance through security and into the departures lounge.
First class catering and retail facilities are available as well as one of the largest Tax and Duty Free shops of any regional airport in the UK.

Its air route network has been considerably enhanced and in addition to extensive holiday flights throughout Europe, the Mediterranean and North America, daily scheduled services operate direct from Cardiff to 13 key destinations across the UK and Europe.
Direct scheduled services provide fast connections to major European hub airports such as Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.
