He may not be wearing a cape but Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick certainly knows how to work miracles.

Tonight’s Channel 4 reality series showed the surgical wizard work his wonders on three injured pets.

The heart-wrenching stories of Otto, Elvis and little Gucci had the entire nation in tears.

We saw Otto, a six-year-old German Shepherd with a life threatening tumour and his tear-stricken owners Kevin and Natalie who turned to Noel in the hope to save his life.

There was Gucci, a teeny tiny Pomeroy paw bristling with surgical pins as Noel strived to improve his damaged leg.

Then there was Jane and Simon, who brought in Elvis, a Rottweiler puppy who had trouble walking and a broken spinal cord.

After Noel’s magical touch, all the dogs were on the mend, but that didn’t stop us from worrying sick about the poor souls.

At one point we saw little Gucci wearing a nappy because he had peed on his healing leg.

However, help was at hand in the form of Supervet Noel whose healing touch brought the pets back from the brink – at about the same moment everyone seemed to fall in love with Noel.
