Madonna has postponed the first five dates of her Rebel Heart tour, saying it won’t be ready in time for the scheduled launch.
The Queen of Pop was due to kick off an international tour of her latest album in August, but five dates in Miami, Atlanta and San Juan, Puerto Rico have been rescheduled, delaying the opening shows by more than a week, according to Billboard.
In a statement, Madonna said: “As my fans already know, the show has to be perfect. Assembling all the elements will require more time than we realised.
“I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause my fans. I can promise you this show will be worth the wait. Can’t wait to share it with all my Rebel Hearts out there.”
Her first tour date was due to be August 29 in Miami, but has now been moved to September 9 in Quebec with the original opening five shows being moved to January 2016.
The Rebel Heart tour takes in Canada, the US, Europe and Puerto Rico, with dates in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow in December.
