THERE is a special exhibition open now to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Frank Roper. From his cliff-top workshop, overlooking Penarth Pier, artist Frank Roper spent over fifty years producing his unique sculptures and stained glass windows for churches throughout England and Wales.

ON AUGUST 5, Peter Simon gave a talk to the Club on “Gems of the Vale”. Peter first of all drew the members’ attention to a book published in 1938 entitled “Glamorgan History and Topography” which describes the Vale as being of mainly agricultural land but with many un-discovered villages and hamlets.

THE NSPCC is calling on people in the Vale of Glamorgan to get together to create a fabulous, creative or unusual lunch on Wednesday, September 17, as part of its UK-wide Big Packed Lunch campaign, and to donate the money they would otherwise have spent on a "same old, same old" lunch to help fund its ChildLine Schools Service.
