Saturday, May 10 - The Railway Man (15) 116 mins. Colin Firth plays Eric Lomax, who as a Japanese Prisoner Of War worked on the notorious Burma-Siam ‘Death Railway.’ He returns to Thailand many years later with his wife Patti (Nicole Kidman), to come to terms with his past.

Saturday, June 14 - 12 Years a Slave (15) 134 mins. Oscar-winning film directed by Steve McQueen, based on the memoirs of Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man from upstate New York who is abducted and sold into slavery.

Saturday, July 12 - Frozen (PG) 102 mins (2pm matinee and 7pm evening performances). In one of the best Disney films for years, Anna and Kristoff set out on an epic journey - encountering mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman – to find Anna's sister who seems to have trapped the kingdom in an eternal winter. Plenty of ice cream in our freezer, and a licensed bar for adults at our evening performance.

Saturday, August 9 - Oh! What a Lovely War (PG) 1969 144 mins. Starting a season of WW I films, in the same week that the Great War started in 1914. An all-star cast replay the tragedy of the war in bawdy music-hall fashion, based on the play by Charles Chilton.

On Saturday evenings, doors open 7pm for a show-time of 7.30pm. Tickets are £4 advance (from both village post offices, and DPVC office am weekdays only) and £5 on the door. We sell Joe’s ice cream at every screening, along with tea/coffee and biscuits, with a licensed bar on selected nights. Remember to keep hold of your ticket stubs for the prize draw.
