A PENARTH theatre group is set to perform a concert version of a new musical at the Wales Millennium Centre this weekend.
Katherine Cole, who is the founder and composer of Night Owl Theatre group, said: “I am writing and developing a musical called ‘Merlin The Musical’, which is a mythical story from The Mabinogion.
“We will be holding promotional concerts leading up to actually staging the musical.”
Katherine, who studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, added: “Our first concert is Easter Monday at the Wales Millennium Centre.
“I am still looking for a few more principle and chorus roles for this exciting project, which I am also considering staging at the Paget Rooms in Penarth.”
The 25-strong cast, which ranges from 13 to more than 40 years old, will be performing at the Glanfa Stage of the Wales Millennium Centre from 6pm on Monday, April 21, before the billing of ‘Wicked’.
