THE holidays get off to a great start at the Barry Tourist Railway this coming weekend……the trains will be operated by a steam locomotive on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, and there is a vintage and shabby chic fair in the Station Buildings at Barry Island Station on the Sunday.

The steam loco is called Jessie, which spent much of its 30-year working life in the Cardiff area. It will be hauling trains from Barry Island at 11.45am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm on both days. The round trip includes a visit to the locomotive shed en-route and takes approximately 45 minutes.

To compliment the steam train, there’s also a vintage and shabby chic fair at the Barry Island Station on Sunday, July 20 – and entrance is free. Enjoy browsing when you return from the train ride and take tea, coffee and a snack in our vintage cafe.

Something for all the family at the Barry Tourist Railway. For more details call 01446 748816 or visit their website for details at www.barrytouristrailway.co.uk.
