PENARTH Neighbourhood Policing Team and the British Transport Police are set to hold a bike marking scheme in the town centre as part of a crackdown on cycle theft in the area.
The event will take place at two locations on Monday, August 18. The first location will be in Penarth town centre, outside the St Fagans pub, between 10am and 12pm.
It will then move down to the Barrage from 12pm to 2pm.
This will also be an opportunity for people to bring any electrical devices, such as tablets, laptops, mobiles, for them to be registered with a national database.
Product registration and bike marking will be free for all.
British Transport Police will be on hand on the day, along with officers from Penarth Police Station, to carry out the marking and registration..
Penarth officers will be there to also provide advice on all types of Community Safety issues, including anti-social behaviour and crime prevention.
