CADW are set to run an incredible event to give you an insight into Wales’s best-loved buildings during their 30th anniversary year. Open Doors will allow people to visit Welsh museums, historic attractions and hidden gems and are hoping to welcome thousands of visitors during the month of September. There will be a variety of events held across Cardiff for the Open Doors event.

This year, Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, has for the first time both funded and organised the annual event, as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations and ongoing commitment to making heritage more accessible to the people of Wales.

The Open Doors event will see attractions offer free entry, activities or events throughout this month. Additionally, Cadw is offering the first 10,000 people to register through its website free entry to its paid admission sites over the final weekend in September.

They will be open from 12.30pm until 5.30pm on the first day and 2pm until 5.30pm on the second. Cardiff Bay Barrage will give access to its control room on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 18 both at 10am but booking is required for this event.
