ON Saturday, November 8 the incredible Cavatina Singers is presenting an exciting evening of choral music at All Saints Church, Penarth starting at 7.30pm.

“From Byrd to Broadway” includes music by great British composers such as Thomas Tallis, William Byrd and Edward Elgar followed in the second half of the programme by some iconic American pieces arranged by Aaron Copeland and culminating in a rousing selection from the musical ‘Oklahoma’.

For this concert, conducted by James Bingham and accompanied by James Bull, Cavatina Singers will be joined by two soloists from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, soprano Aoife O`Connell and bass baritone Emyr Wyn Jones.

Aoife, who was born in Co Wicklow, Ireland has recently graduated with a Masters in Opera Performance and has extensive experience as an oratorio and concert singer. Last summer she was a finalist in the Ian Stoutzker Prize for the Best Performer at the RWCMD.
