CARDIFF Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates the 20th anniversary of ‘A Night at the Movies’ in style on a special night of music that lit up the silver screen.

On Friday, December 5, the night will be led by conductor Michael Bell. The orchestra have performed the hits from Hollywood for the last two decades and they still sound as stunning as ever.

Since 1994 everything has been performed from King Kong to James Bond, and The Pink Panther to The Pirates of the Caribbean.

The concert starts with Gershwin in Hollywood before giving way to the spectacular sounds of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. There are also traditional musicals in the form of The Sound of Music, Chicago and movie classics including Gone with the Wind and Ben Hur. A few British selections are on the set-list too in the form of Miss Marple and 633 Squadron. Plus, the music from Saving Private Ryan and The Longest Day will also be performed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

Proceeds go to the George Thomas Hospice Care, which provides specialist palliative care to those facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in Cardiff.

Book now and enjoy a historic night of film fun for the whole family.
