OVER the festive season, The Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Bay, will be holding magical events in the run up to Christmas.

To kick start proceedings and to celebrate the opening weekend of The Penguins of Madagascar at the ODEON Cinema, the complex has invited two larger than life penguin walkabout characters to entertain families.

On Saturday, December 7, there will be a combination of animatronic costumes, traditional puppetry and humour; the penguins will make three appearances throughout the day.

A special guest will be at the Centre on Saturday, December 20 when Dr Bob Balloons will entertain families.

The balloon modeller extraordinaire will be up to his usual balloon tricks by creating colourful masterpieces and dazzling visitors with his creations. Bob will have three 30 minute mini-shows throughout the day.

The Centre’s finale event will be a visit from the world-famous, Bjorn the Polar Bear. The life-size, mischievous animatronic polar bear will make three appearances on Sunday, December 21 to wow visitors and spread Christmas cheer. With blinking eyes, a sniffing nose, and even an opening mouth, this unique, incredibly life-like pod puppet will enchant the whole family.
