BEGINNING four years ago The Story of Christmas is being performed this year in no less than three towns and one city in South Wales - Cardiff, Aberdare, Carmarthen, and inside Wilkinson’s store in Port Talbot.

In Cardiff, this year ‘Christmas –The Story’ is in the hall of Tabernacle, in The Hayes. Continuing until December 20 there are 20 minute performances, all day and every day Mondays to Saturdays from 10am until 6pm and admission for everyone is completely free.

Back again this year will be two real live donkeys who are twins - a great attraction for the children. The donkeys will again have their stable in the forecourt of Tabernacle.

The Story of Christmas, is free for everyone, all in the centre of Cardiff this Christmas. This has all grown from an idea of Sally Humble-Jackson from Pen-y-lan in Cardiff four years ago.

Over two thousand local school children will be enjoying free trips to see the production and - new this year for all children and families will be ‘a fleeting meeting with St. Nicholas’, every day including Saturdays, at St. John’s Church in The Hayes, and again free for all children.

New this year will be a performance of ‘Christmas The Story’ for the people in Cardiff prison on Sunday December 21.

The productions are funded by members of local churches who are contributing just £1 for each member of their congregation. Also there is still a welcome to volunteers to take part in some performances and to act as stewards. There are no lines to learn as all the narrative is pre-recorded and taking part is easy and great fun.

To donate or volunteer please contact Sally Humble-Jackson, c/o Church House, Church Road, Cardiff CF14 OSJ, telephone 02920 493326, email: cardiffnativity@gmail.com. or call in to Tabernacle on any day.
