PENARTH Library and Griffin Books will be co-hosting a special event to mark the first ever Harry Potter Book Night. On Thursday, February 5, come along to the library for an evening of wizard activities for children (suggested age range is seven to 12) from 5.30pm until 7.30pm.

Harry Potter Book Night aims to share the wonder of J K Rowling’s unforgettable stories, introducing the next generation of readers to the magic of Harry Potter.

Young wizards, witches and Muggles will be treated to an evening of games, activities, readings and quizzes, including a Harry Potter fancy dress competition, readings from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, face painting and glitter tattoos, wand making and a fiendish Harry Potter Trivia Challenge.

The Harry Potter books will also be on sale at discounted prices.

Mel Griffin, owner of Griffin Books and Julie Dutton and Suki Flynn, children’s library coordinators at Penarth Library, said “We are delighted to be working together to celebrate the first ever Harry Potter Book Night. We have been huge fans of the Harry Potter books since they were first published and are happy to pass on the magic to future generations.”
