AN INTERNATIONALLY renowned Chamber music group are set to perform at the Penarth Pier Pavilion later this month.
Ensemble Epomeo will present an exciting programme of music that is built around the work of Beethoven.
The music selected for the evening includes Beethoven’s monumental String Trio in G major alongside trios by the lyrical Soviet master Mieczyslaw Weinberg and leading British composer John McCabe.
A “meet the artists” reception will follow the event on Thursday, February 26
Founded in 2008, string trio Ensemble Epomeo (Diane Pascal – violin; David Yang – viola; Kenneth Woods – cello) are widely hailed for forging warm connections with their audiences and speaking passionately, articulately and humorously about the music they play.
David Trotman, Penarth Pier Pavilion director, said: “It’s very exciting to have such a renowned group of musicians playing such fantastic works at the Pavilion. We’ve found that the building combines excellent acoustics with a truly intimate audience experience, and this makes the Pavilion the perfect venue for this concert.”
