PENARTH Concert Club has lined up three great performances for the coming months.

These Sunday afternoon tea time concerts all start at 3pm.

On March 29 is The Bute Ensemble with Susan Bird on piano. They will perform Schubert trio in Bflat and Faure’s piano quartet No. 1 in C minor for piano and strings.

This deeply emotional yet restrained lyricism draws deeply from Wagnerian influences in the late 19th century, yet remaining true to a deeply classical and French style.

On April 19 will be “...from Opera to Musical Theatre”. WNO singers Fiona Harrison (soprano), Helen Jarmany (mezzo), Simon Crosby Buttle (tenor), Julian Boyce (baritone) and Susan Bird (piano) will perform following their sensational and enthusiastically received Christmas show.

Then on May 17 will be the Cambridge Horn Ensemble and The Bute Ensemble.

They will perform Beethoven Sextet, Ruskin and Lyudmila by Mikhail Glinka, The Magnificent seven – Richard Bissell and Tanith – Tim Jackson.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and accompanied children are free.

The concerts take place at Elfed Avenue United Church, Penarth and for more information please email penarthconcertclub@gmail.com.
