NOW celebrating its 30th anniversary tour, The Solid Silver 60s Show is crammed full of iconic names from the golden era of music and will be performed at St David’s Hall, Cardiff.

Top of the bill and back in the UK for the first time in 17 years is the original cool cat Billy J Kramer along with his backing band The Rising.

Expect all the hits from the Scouse sensation including number one singles Bad to Me and Little Children, plus the Lennon and McCartney composition Do You Want to Know a Secret? He may even throw in a few gems off his latest album I Won the Fight as well.

Sharing the stage is Mike Pender, the original voice of The Searchers, who will deliver top tunes including Sweets for My Sweet and Sugar & Spice with his typically stylish aplomb. The singer is still going strong having topped the UK charts for the first time way back in 1963.

Also in the line-up is legendary Londoner and Solid Silver fan favourite Chris Farlowe, who is most fondly remembered for his covers of Out of Time and Handbags & Gladrags.

Those two classics will undoubtedly delight the Welsh crowd having been re-recorded by Manic Street Preachers and Stereophonics in recent years.

Elsewhere on the bill is American soul singer and former member of The Ikettes P P Arnold, who memorably released Cat Stevens’ The First Cut is the Deepest. Plus, Cavern Club regulars The Merseybeats are guaranteed to notch up the nostalgia a few levels with their brand of catchy pop.

Accompanying all the stars will be hometown heroes The New Amen Corner, who will be returning to Cardiff for another night of rock riffs and marvellous melodies.

Tickets for the April 1 performance cost £24, £26 and £28 (plus a ticket service charge of £2.95 per transaction).
