FOUR unique exhibitions showcasing work from some of Wales’ best up and coming and established artists.

Ranging from an installation created on-site out of book pages to a large–scale multi-media exhibition exploring historical sites around Wales, the exhibitions, all of which will be free to view and appeal to all ages and interests, will present some of the best and most exciting new work to come out of Wales this year.

Danielle Sullivan will be running now until April 28. Following her inclusion in the Graduate 2014 exhibition, Wales-based artist, Danielle Sullivan, will be returning to the Centre to create an installation in situ in the public areas. Inspired by the way books are growing neglected and forgotten as digital products step in to replace them, Sullivan’s work involves crafting the pages of unwanted books into beautiful, nature-inspired 3D scenes, a symbolic reminder of the need for books to continue to grow and flourish. Visitors will be able to watch the artist through-out her week long residence at the Centre as she meticulously constructs the artwork.

From May 9 to June 9 will be Jon Pountney – Something Must Be Done. Cardiff-based photographer Jon Pountney, who first exhibited at the Centre in 2012 with his project ‘Cardiff Before Cardiff’, returns with a new collection of images exploring the isolated communities of South Wales most severely hit by the decline of heavy industry in the region. In ‘Something Must Be Done’, Pountney, through a very deliberate choice of images, exposes just how easy it is to depict an area at the mercy of history, neglect, tradition and misplaced nostalgia.

From June 20 to August 23 will Matt Wright – Relics. ‘Relics’, an impressive, large-scale multimedia exhibition from Wales-based artist Matt Wright in partnership with Cadw, presents a study of historical sites from around Wales, captured in 360° using the latest digital technology and presented as a series of unique interactive 3D spheres, HD films and 2D work. A 360°video tent will also be situated in the foyer on select dates offering an exciting and immersive way to experience the exhibition.

Then finally from September 11 to November 15 will be Graduate 2015, curated by Richard Billingham.

Artist Richard Billingham, best known for his successful photobook ‘Ray’s a Laugh’, will curate this year’s Graduate exhibition. Now in its fourth year at Wales Millennium Centre, Graduate exhibition showcases some of the best artwork, across arrange of mediums, created by Wales-based arts graduates.

All the exhibitions are free.
