THE Pilot, Penarth will be holding their first Beer and Cider Festival of the summer from Friday, May 1 to Monday 4.

Over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend, The Pilot will be serving eclectic summer ales and refreshing ciders, along with Pimms and a selection of cocktails by the jug. The traditional festival ale’s available on tap are sourced from small independent British craft breweries such as Otley, Waen, Tiny Rebel, Grey Trees and Bristol Beer Factory.

There will also be a delicious seaside chip shop menu and BBQ to compliment the drinks on offer.

General manager Phil Newbould promises that this year’s festival will be even better than last year’s event, commenting, “We have some excellent beers and ales on tap from great local brewers.

We can’t wait to kick off the long summer with our beer festival and hope to see many faces come along and enjoy this warmer weather and some great food and drink.”

The Pilot now boasts its inclusion in the 2015 CAMRA real ale guide, and is the only pub in South Wales, for the second year running, to be included in the Michelin pub guide. The Pilot enjoys pairings with Hangfire Smokehouse.

Overlooking Cardiff Bay, The Pilot in Penarth is part of the Knife & Fork Food group, which includes The Conway in Pontcanna, The Old Swan Inn in Llantwit Major and The Discovery in Cyncoed. The group also enjoys regular pairings with Hangfire Smokehouse.
