ROD Woodward is bringing his ‘The Journey Starts Here’ tour to St David’s Hall on Friday, May 22.

The award-winning comic also setting off on the road for his first ever nationwide tour with 14 dates already booked in.

Yet, Rod has already amassed an impressive CV including supporting the likes of Russell Brand and Paddy McGuinness, as well as conquering the Royal Variety Performance! Last December Rod had the nerve-wracking task on his hands of doing stand-up at the London Palladium in front of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and millions at home watching on ITV1. However, he pulled it off in style and was the major success story of the night! In fact, he was that good he’s been invited back to do it again for Sunday Night at the Palladium, which will be televised on May 10.

However, Rod is not an overnight sensation as he’s been a familiar face on the UK comedy circuit for nearly 20 years. In 1996, he won both the Best Newcomer to Variety and Encore Magazine’s Entertainer of the Year awards. He followed it up a year later by reaching the Final of So You Think You’re Funny. In 2008, he went one better by winning the BBC series Funny Business. Rod captured the imagination of BBC Radio Wales listeners too with his hilarious programme Doing It for a Lough, which he wrote and performed in for three series.

He’s also established himself as a highly sought-after comic for TV and at award ceremonies. He’s appeared on The Comedians on Sky as well as the BBC’s The Rush Hour, A Bit Off the Fringe and Am I Talking to You? Plus, in 2000 Rod was invited to be guest speaker at the Professional Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year Awards dinner.

Tickets cost £18.50 (plus a £2.95 ticket service charge per transaction).
