Treetop Adventure Golf is nestled away on the third floor of St David’s 2 and instantly transports you to the jungle.

Featuring two 18-hole courses each is designed to incorporate the feel of being in the rainforest.

Throughout the venue there are streams, hidden animals, trees, obstacles and even thunder and lightning that all add to the experience.

My partner and I visited on a Monday just as Treetop Adventure Golf was opening at 11am. Groups were waiting at the door and more people arrived shortly after it opened, proving how popular it already has become.

We decided we’d tackle the Ancient Explorer course first. As the course twisted around half of the venue there was plenty to enjoy, even with some of the more difficult holes.

Around the golf courses you could hear how much fun everyone was having and marvelling in the environment that has been created.

Once we had finished we got the chance to tackle the tricky 19th hole. We were warned beforehand that if we missed to expect game show host Bob Monkey-House to have a few words. As expected both of us missed and were treated to some of his famous, funny banter.

If you are lucky to beat the 19th hole you’ll win a free round of golf.

Before embarking on the Tropical Trail, we had the chance to enjoy a wonderful Jaffa Cake cupcake from Cardiff bakers Cup and Cake and even got to sample a delicious Jungle Cooler Mocktail.

There is an extensive list of drinks to get you in the jungle vibe and with more being added, Treetop Adventure Golf creates a chilled environment to enjoy time with friends and family before, in between and after the golf.

Finally on the Tropical Trail we were faced with some talking toucans, the lightning that we’d seen whilst playing the other course and a mystical tree.

Again we had the chance to go on the 19th hole but neither of us could putt our way to a free game.

Both courses were incredibly fun and with us winning one each it topped off a great experience.

Treetop Adventure Golf is a brilliant addition to St David’s 2, at times you forget where you are whilst tucked away in the jungle. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a keen mini golfer or just up for a fun time, everyone from children to big kids will be in for a treat.
