THE NINETEENTH annual Open Gardens Trail takes place in Penarth on Saturday, July 25, from10am-6pm, and Sunday, July 26, from 11am-5pm.

There are eight gardens in use as well as the Sully Terrace private allotments.

Organiser Ann Lush said: "All the gardens are very individual with each having something extra to offer. We have local well-known artist Diana Mead with her painting and cards."

At Tudor Close they will be selling all homemade produce including cakes/jams/marmalades/chutney and much more as well as having plants on display and a raffle. Filled rolls and cream teas will also be available.

This year, the newly created Children's Garden at the back of the Public Library will be of interest and has been described as a "sheer delight" in terms of the ideas that have gone into creating the "little oasis of ecology".

Admission is by Rover Ticket for £5 which includes tea/coffee at number 4 Tudor Close.
