BBC Proms in the Park will be held in Swansea on Saturday, September 12, part of a UK-wide celebration of the Last Night of the Proms 2015.

Concluding a Proms season which includes five performances at the Royal Albert Hall, the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales prepare to come home and go alfresco.

In 2014, thousands of music lovers thronged to Singleton Park to hear internationally acclaimed Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, celebrated violinist Jennifer Pike and singer-songwriter Casi from Bangor perform with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales under the baton of conductor Tecwyn Evans.

Concert buffs and first time Prommers are all invited to bring picnics, deck chairs and flags to celebrate the Last Night of the Proms in the magnificent Singleton Park. The evening will end with fireworks and the traditional Last Night medley of sing-a-long numbers, joining with the audience at the Royal Albert Hall and with parks across the UK.

The BBC Proms is the world’s largest classical music festival, with 92 events in 2015 across eight weeks. The Last Night of the Proms radiates out from the Royal Albert Hall to embrace all four nations of the UK.
