DINAS Powys Village Show will be held on Saturday, September 5 at the Parish Halls and Gardens.

With over 110 classes catering for all ages, and with a £3 cash prize for first place in each class it is a very popular occasion and attracts entries from all over the Vale. There will be plenty going on during the afternoon, even if you do not enter the competition.

The Show is a fun few hours, a chance to meet up with family and friends and meet new ones. Cost of entry is 50p for adults and is free for children under 16. As usual there will be a raffle.

There will be music from the Dinas Powis Ecumenical Seven, two Punch and Judy shows, free face painting and balloon modelling and the excellent Women’s Institute Teas – all this on top of the many items in all the classes to see and admire, plus a free bouncy castle, weather permitting.

There will also be the popular model railway track and other mechanical attractions set out in the garden as well as several community gazebos.

The new revised edition of the popular booklet ‘Around Dinas Powys’, first published in 1993, written by the popular walks leader, the late George Thomas, and beautifully illustrated by the late Don Offord, will be on sale for the first time at the Show, priced £3.50.

‘The Village Trail’ within the booklet has been updated as have the five walks in the original edition with new maps.
