A GARDEN will open to the public for the National Gardens Scheme this September.

Chapter Community Garden on Market Road, Canton will open on Saturday, September 5.

Canton Community Gardens was established in July 2009, with the intention of bringing local people together for a range of gardening, recycling and environmental projects in the area. The Chapter Community Garden is an ongoing project involving members and volunteers of Canton Community Gardens.

The project was awarded £36,000 in the Big Lottery's Lottery's People's Millions in November 2001, and was shortlisted for a Big Lunch award organised by the Eden Project for Chapter's Big Lunch in 2012.

The garden will be open from 11.30am until 3pm with admission costing £2.50 for adults and children are free. Admission includes tea/coffee and a cake.
