THE incredible ship, Eye of the Wind, will make two stops at the port of Cardiff in September and October.
For 104 years already the traditional square rigger Eye of the Wind has crossed the oceans of this planet. Certified as a civil sail training vessel and registered in the home port Jersey, the seaworthy brig is sailing under the Red Ensign. After a two-week crossing of the Irish Sea from Oban (Scotland) via Liverpool (England), her crew is now about to set sail for Cardiff.
In Cardiff harbor you are invited to visit the brig, which has served as film setting for Hollywood productions on several occasions. During the open-ship events the crew will answer all questions about the ship and its history to guests and ship-lovers. Visitors of all ages get the chance to acquire their unique and personalized “Tall Ship Diploma” on board. Admission is free, fun is guaranteed.
The ship will arrive on September 25 to September 28 where photo opportunities are available, with the open-ship event taking place on the Saturday from 3-6pm and on Sunday from 3-5pm.
The assigned mooring area is at Roath Basin. Changes will be announced in time.
The ship will return for more photos on Wednesday, September 30 to Thursday, October 1.
