TWO exciting performances are heading to St David’s Hall with The Johnny Cash Roadshow and Alexander Armstrong: A Year of Songs.

Firstly, on Saturday, January 23, The Johnny Cash Roadshow will bring all the hits from Ring of Fire to I Walk the Line with stunning attention to detail across a breathtaking 50-year career.

Since his death in 2003, fans of Johnny Cash have appreciated the iconic singer-songwriter’s astonishing body of work more than ever. This show not only encapsulates all his timeless solo classics including his last ever release Hurt from 2002, but also features his beautiful duets with his wife June (perfectly portrayed by Jill Schoonjans) plus a sprinkling of hidden gems.

Johnny Cash left behind big shoes to fill, but award-winning frontman Clive John always relishes the challenge and replicates every nuance of his character in uncanny style. This year’s production promises to be the biggest one yet with further contributions from the ‘Carter Sisters’ and the ‘JC Horns’.

This is the only tribute show that is officially endorsed by the Cash family.

Tickets cost £17 and £19.50.

Then on Wednesday, January 27, Alexander Armstrong will branch out into new musical territory with a live concert.

Entitled A Year of Songs – Live, this fantastic new stage production sees Alexander celebrate his love of music and gives fan a glimpse into the different side of the multi-talented TV personality.

The nation’s favourite quiz show host is a familiar face on the BBC’s hugely popular programme Pointless, and he’s now relishing tackling his favourite tunes from jazz standards and rock classics to some lesser known pop delights.

He possesses a gloriously powerful baritone voice, which breathes new life into a wonderfully diverse range of songs including Louis Jordan’s Is You Is Or Is You Ain’t My Baby to Spandau Ballet’s True and Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Tickets to see Alexander Armstrong cost £25 and £35.

All transactions are subject to a £2.95 Ticket Service Charge and an optional 95p postage fee.
