PENARTH-born organist Dr David Ponsford will be performing a selection of incredible musical pieces on Sunday, February 28.

Dr Ponsford was brought up in Penarth where his family have been members of Trinity Methodist Church for decades.

The church is the perfect venue for his exceptional recital.

Periodically, Dr Ponsford played the organ at Trinity Methodist Church prior to going to university. He is now a renowned organist, harpsichordist and musicologist and returns to give a recital on the very fine Edwardian organ built by Norman and Beard in 1908.

During the afternoon, Dr Ponsford will perform music by JS Bach, Herbert Howell, Louis Vierne and CM Widor.

Everyone is invited to enjoy tea and cakes afterwards.

Tickets to the performance at 3.30pm, cost £7 and £5 for concessions.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the church in aid of restorations.
