WEST End favourites Gareth Gates and Maureen Nolan return to Cardiff for the explosive rock 'n’ roll musical Footloose, bursting on to the New Theatre stage from Monday, February 29 to Saturday, March 5.

Based on the 1980s screen sensation, Footloose tells the story of city boy Ren who moves to a rural backwater in America where dancing is banned. Chaos ensues when Ren breaks loose, and he soon has the whole town on his feet.

As well as being packed full of amazing dance, the musical features some classic 80s hits, including Holding Out for a Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear it for the Boy and the unforgettable title track Footloose.

This is the first time Gareth Gates (best known for his hugely successful pop career) will be performing at the New Theatre, while Maureen Nolan – of the legendary Nolan Sisters – was last seen at the theatre in the excellent Blood Brothers alongside Marti Pellow. Joining them will be a dynamic cast of dazzling dancers and superb singers.

Footloose, which is based on the 1980s movie that propelled Kevin Bacon to stardom, has been nominated for a Tony Award four times.

Tickets cost from £12 to £30 and are subject to a Ticketing Service Charge (exemptions apply).
