THE Fig Tree Penarth is welcoming the arrival of spring with a celebration of the cuisine and wines of Gascony in south western France on April 28.

The carefully crafted dinner will include sun-drenched specialities such as confit duck, sheep cheese, wild mushrooms, prunes and Armagnac.

Four courses will be matched with five delicious wines from the region.
