NEW Theatre, Cardiff, has lined-up an incredible programme of shows for 2016 - with May being packed with unmissable theatre.

Set in America during the Great Depression, Of Mice and Men remains one of the most poignant statements of being human our contemporary theatre has produced. John Steinbeck’s classic tale comes to Cardiff from Tuesday, May 3 to Saturday 7.

Michelle Magorian’s wonderfully uplifting Goodnight Mister Tom returns to Cardiff on Tuesday, May 10 to Saturday 14 after an Olivier Award-winning run in the West End. Set during the Second World War, it tells of the friendship that develops between an old recluse and the young evacuee he takes in.

Gary Delaney (Mock the Week), Pete Firman (The Magicians), Sean Hughes (one of Channel 4’s ‘100 Greatest Stand-Ups in the World’) and Kiwi compere Jarred Christmas make a stop in Cardiff on Monday, May 16 as part of their All Star Stand Up 2016 tour.

Join the original and best celebration of Motown’s Greatest Hits with the spectacular, critically acclaimed Dancing in the Streets. Infectious, melodic, foot-tapping songs will be brought to life from Thursday, May 19 to Saturday 21 by a talented cast and band.

One of the Bard’s best-loved comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, flies into Cardiff from Tuesday, May 24 to Saturday 28. This unique production sees professional actors from The Royal Shakespeare Company share the stage with amateur performers from Cardiff’s Everyman Theatre.
