JOSH Groban will perform in the UK next year following three sold-out shows this autumn.

The multi-platinum and multi-million selling artist will perform at the Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff on May 17.

Groban played the first date of his North American tour of intimate theatre venues this weekend in Atlanta and will continue with dates running through to early November. It includes two nights at the famous Dolby Theatre in his home city of Los Angeles. His recent US promo activity has included performances at the opening ceremony of the US Open and at the Tony Awards, as well as a special appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Renowned for his show-stealing guest appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Josh Groban marked the album’s UK release with a performance and interview on The One Show which was followed by appearances on The Paul O’Grady Show, Loose Women and Sunday Night At The Palladium.

‘Stages’, his first UK number one album, is a collection of some of the greatest musical theatre songs of all time, which Groban describes as “gorgeously arranged songs that have stood the test of time,” and which he was drawn to because of their combination of “incredible melody with an incredible story.”

Recorded with producers Humberto Gatica and Bernie Herms in both Los Angeles and London’s Abbey Road (with a 75-piece orchestra), ‘Stages’ features songs from musicals including Les Misérables (Bring Him Home); Carousel (You’ll Never Walk Alone); Into the Woods (Children Will Listen); Phantom of the Opera (All I Ask of You) and The Wizard of Oz (Over the Rainbow).

‘Stages’ features three duets: Kelly Clarkson is featured on All I Ask of You; Audra McDonald sings on If I Loved You; and trumpeter Chris Botti plays on Old Devil Moon.

Tickets cost £40/£50 and are available from the box office on 02920 224488.
