MARCONI Theatre Company are presenting two plays for Voices as their contribution to this year's Penarth Holiday Festival.

They will perform Under Milkwood by Dylan Thomas and Oh, My Dead Dears! written by Marconi member Phil Rapier.

Both shows will be performed at the Paget Rooms on Sunday, July 17.

Under Milkwood is an important part of the history of Penarth says Phil, as the children of Albert Road School performed the playground "skipping" rhymes on the now legendary Richard Burton 1963 BBC recording.

Members of the public who was at Albert Road in 1963 are encouraged to come and enjoy the show. Marconi Theatre would also be delighted to hear their memories as this made a unique contribution to the heritage of radio drama in Wales.

Talking about his own play, Phil said: "My own play Oh, My Dead Dears! tells the story of how three years later Under Milkwood also made text book legal history".

To find out how head to the Paget Rooms to see the show.

Tickets are available on the door and cost £5 each and will include a complimentary glass of wine during the interval.
