MUSIC at Lunchtime weekly recitals at All Saints Church in Victoria Square, Penarth, return on Monday, September 12.

This year’s autumn season has been extended to accommodate new performers who have asked if they could be included in the church’s programme of concerts. All concerts start at 1pm and last about an hour.

The season of music is launched next week by Lara-Clare Bourdeaux. Lara is a soprano who attends the Opera Academy in Cardiff having graduated from the Postgraduate vocal course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama last year.

On the Saturday following Lara’s recital at All Saints she will be performing an evening recital in Oxford entitled Shakespeare’s Heroines in Aria and Song. Guests will be treated to a selection of items from that programme on Monday. Lara-Clare will be accompanied by Nicola Rose.

All Saints Church will also welcome a number of new performers. The Cathays Chamber Players include musicians who have not performed at All Saints before and will be performing works by Mozart.

The Scott-McNicholas Experience is made up of Sue Scott on piano and Steph McNicholas (vocals) performing songs from the 30s, 40s and 50s. Scott Baker will also perform at All Saints for the first time – Scott is a classical guitarist who is another graduate of RWCMD.

Entry to all Music at Lunchtime recitals is free although many choose to show their appreciation by contributing towards a retiring collection which goes into the All Saints Organ Restoration Fund.

Many concert-goers choose to bring their lunch along and listen to the music on the gallery. Teas and coffees are provided. The church is totally accessible.
