FOR the third in its autumn season of concerts, All Saints Church is pleased to welcome a duo who will be performing in the Music at Lunchtime series of recitals for the first time next Monday, September 26, at 1pm.

Pianist Sue Scott and singer Steph McNicholas - known as The Scott-McNicholas Experience - met at Penarth’s legendary Pilot jam night around eight years ago and the duo have performed songs from the 1920s-1950s at shows across South Wales together ever since.

Sue is an associate of the London College of Music and has been playing piano since she was six.

Steph has sung in a number of bands over the past 30 years and is lead singer with Cardiff-based country band Cheatin’ Hearts.

The duo will include classic songs by George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Rodgers and Hart in their set at All Saints Church. They’ll also be performing songs from some of their favourite MGM musicals, including Singin’ In the Rain.

The audience can also expect to hear a couple of numbers made famous by Patsy Cline and Elvis Presley.

More information about Music at All Saints – lunchtime recitals and evening concerts - is available via the parish office and the administrator, Dafydd G Jones by calling 029 2070 3170. Information about forthcoming events can also be viewed on the church’s website at admin@allsaintspenarth.org.uk and on Facebook.

All Saints Church is totally accessible to disabled people.

Entry is free (although many, in appreciation of what the church is seeking to do choose to make a donation to the church’s organ restoration fund), teas and coffees are provided and audiences for the lunchtime recitals are invited to bring their lunch with them to have on the Gallery.
