WORLD renowned soprano Rebecca Evans will celebrate becoming the first president of Penarth Arts and Crafts Limited at a special evening.

Penarth resident and soprano Rebecca Evans, accepted an invitation to become the charity’s very first president. Rebecca will take on the role at an Inaugural Presidential Concert to be held in the Pier Pavilion on Friday, October 7.

As well as performing herself, Rebecca has gathered together a group of world class musicians to join her at this event. Sharing the programme with her will be David Adams, leader of the orchestra of the WNO and musical director of the annual Penarth Chamber Music Festival; David Doidge, a pianist and member of staff at the WNO; Neil Davies, bass-baritone and a former winner of the Lieder Prize at the Cardiff Singer of the World; contralto Catherine Wyn Rogers and actor Suzanne Packer.

The event will be presented by Nicola Heywood Thomas, presenter, amongst many other things, of the weekly arts programme on BBC Radio Wales.

The evening will begin at 7pm with a Prosecco reception sponsored by restaurant Etc Penarth.

At the end of the concert canapes, prepared by James Sommerin will be served and post-concert drinks supplied by Fine Wines Direct and The Bottle Shop.
