SINGER, actress and composer Petula Clark CBE will perform the hits from her career which has spanned seven decades at St David’s Hall on Sunday, October 9.

Since starting her career as an entertainer on BBC Radio during the Second World War, Petula has gone on to become Britain’s best-selling female artist ever with 68 million record sales to her name.

Even at the age of 83, Petula is showing no signs of slowing down as she continues to tour the world. This concert also features songs off Petula’s latest album From Now On.

Petula won her first Grammy in 1964 with Downtown for Best Rock n Roll Record after the song had topped the US charts with more than three million copies. The following year Petula landed her second Grammy for Best Female Vocal Performance with I Know A Place. As one of the key players in ‘The British Invasion’ she scored 15 consecutive US Top 40 hits, and also starred in more than 30 films.

In Finian’s Rainbow where she acted opposite Fred Astaire (and was nominated for a Golden Globe), and she appeared with Peter O’Toole in 1970’s Goodbye Mr Chips. In 1980 she opened at London’s Victoria Palace, London in The Sound of Music, which became the biggest advance in British theatre history.

Petula subsequently starred in the New York production of Blood Brothers and gave a defining performance of Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Boulevard on both sides of the Atlantic.
