TICKETS for the 2016/17 International Concert Series at St David's Hall, Cardiff, are on sale now.

Vladimir Ashkenazy combines forces with pianist Alice Sara Ott and the Philharmonia Orchestra on Friday, November, 18, for readings of Borodin, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.

Plus, ahead of Christmas The Sixteen will return for their annual Christmas concert of seasonal hymns, traditional favourites and Renaissance masterpieces on Sunday, December 4.

Later that week, the English Chamber Ensemble are joined by Milos Karadaglic on Thursday, December 8. Here he showcases his skills with a set entitled Bach to Beatles featuring classics from the German composer and the Fab Four.

In the New Year, two performers join forces as Esa-Pekka Salonen and Pierre-Laurent share the stage with Philharmonia Orchestra for a pair of Beethoven pieces and Strauss’. Also Sprach Zarathustra on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

Conversely, the Vienna Tonkunstler Orchestra make their first visit to Cardiff with the sounds of Mendelssohn and Beethoven plus Dvorak’s New World Symphony on Friday, March 3, 2017. Likewise, the Welsh National Opera Orchestra also feature Dvorak with his Seventh Symphony alongside Suk’s Serenade for Strings and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 20 on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

The Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra will perform on Saturday, April 1, 2017, who deliver First and Ninth Symphonies led by conductor Michael Sanderling, plus Cardiff’s Polyphonic Choir and Ardwyn Singers.

From Russia with love comes the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday, May 14, 2017, with Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet. Yet, if you fancy something a little bit different then you might enjoy the interpretations of Philip Glass and Steve Reich from the Grand Band on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra led by conductor Eric Whitacre, will perform on Friday, June 2, 2017.
