A MAD Hatters Tea Party will be held in Penarth on Saturday, April 8, to raise money for charity.

The tea party will be a new twist on the age old Easter bonnet theme, with prizes for the best hats on display in a parade at the end of the afternoon which will be hosted by one of the Mad Hatters at the event.

As well as a vintage tea party, there will be a live music stage in the grounds of the Kymin, curated by Bethan Elfyn, from BBC Radio Wales. Including Ofelia, Little Folk, Cw Cw, and Rebecca Hurn.

Around the Kymin guest will also be able to enjoy the craft room, an egg hunt around the grounds, the top Mad Hatters Parade with prizes, bouncy castle, the roaming caravan, and Vantage Point Events Bar.

All proceeds will go to Noah's Ark - Tiny Lives Appeal, Cwtch Baby Bank, Tear Fund (Central Africa Appeal) and Tros Gynnal Plant.

Bethan Elfyn said: “This fundraiser was inspired by the special care we received for our second daughter Celyn, who was in ICU for a few days after being born prematurely last November.

"I was so deeply touched by the care we received at the time that I wanted to do something to try and raise funds for the unit for anyone in a similar position.

“I was also one of the lucky recipients from Matt Callanan’s We Make Good Happen goodwill campaign, and this is what I’m finally doing with my tenner.

"Matt has inspired us to start a social and community group in Penarth that will get together and Make Good Happen too.

"We look forward to launching it at the Kymin, and organising more events in future.”
