THE regulars of the Station Hotel (Top House) in Cogan have been busy during April, raising much-needed funds for Ty Hafan Children's Hospice.

The latest fundraiser, a quiz night organised by Loony one and Loony two, ably assisted by Andy and Fran, took place on Wednesday, April 30, and raised a total of £225.

Thanks to all who entered, or donated prizes.

The winning team was 'Sorry and Sodas' and the most original team name was won by 'Rebels without a Clue'.

Gaynor Taylor, Ty Hafan's Community Fundraising Co-ordinator, had agreed to present the prizes and draw the raffles, but ended up also being drafted into one of the teams!

She wishes to thank Tony, Tina and the rest of the quiz teams for their hospitality and continuing support.

Ty Hafan will be having an open day in June and Gaynor invited all present to see the work that is carried out there.

The total amount collected on Wednesday, plus two previous quizzes, amounted to £715, and Gaynor duly accepted this on behalf of Ty Hafan.

The date of the next quiz is Tuesday, May 27, and tomorrow (Friday, May 9) Welsh rugby star Mike Phillips will open the new beer garden at the pub at 7pm.
